YOGA FOR KIDS
The sessions are especially designed to get in touch with the whole self – physical, mental and emotional. Breathing and stretching exercises help in focusing awareness on the breath and physical layer. Yoga postures prepare the mind and the body to explore the inner dimensions. Kids learn about the significance of the postures and its effect in the psyche, intellect, creativity, energy and emotions. The sessions end with meditation. Both active and passive meditations are used to establish inner calm, emotional balance and reinforce positivity.
Age 2-5 (45 min class): Fun time with a lot of games includes carefully selected yoga poses, mindfulness exercises, soft pranayamas and meditations. Usually the class structured with inspiring stories which encourage a child's natural thirst for knowledge. In this imaginative series, combined simple yoga poses with engaging songs, puppets and stories that exercise social, sensory and motor skills while increasing flexibility.
Age 6-10 (45 min class): Improves strength, flexibility, and coordination. Children will learn how to focus and center themselves with various breathing and visualization techniques. They will also learn self-respect and respect for others with the practice of fun and challenging poses, partner and group poses, lots of yoga games, breathing and basic anatomy.
Yoga for Teens (1 hour class): Using yoga postures to build inner/ outer strength and flexibility are the main focus of this class. Also includes partner/group poses and playful yoga games. Experience emotional balance through the physical and mental benefits of yoga by practicing breathing exercises, flowing sequences, balancing poses and deep relaxation while building a healthy relationship with your body. Positive self-awareness and esteem are encouraged.
