GENTLE VINYASA

Gentle Vinyasa is a class that awakens the body whilst having the intention of lengthening the muscles. It uses a sequence of traditional yoga postures, synchronizing breath and movement into a flowing sequence called a "vinyasa". Equal parts of the body strengthening and stretching, this is a great well-balanced class. With a deliciously sweet gentle flow, you will leave feeling more free and peaceful than when you arrived.

HATHA ALIGNMENT YOGA

A combination of Hatha Yoga methods and movements with tips from Iyengar Yoga, using props to help you achieve the correct ‘asana’ (pose) more easily. Classes focus on the correct alignment of classic poses to develop strength and stamina, improve muscle tone and concentrate the mind. Yoga shouldn’t be seen as a ‘workout’, but a ‘working’ to heal the body.

IYENGAR YOGA

Iyengar Yoga, named after and developed by B. K. S. Iyengar, is a form of Hatha Yoga that has an emphasis on detail, precision and alignment in the performance of posture (asana) and breath control (pranayama). The development of strength, mobility and stability is gained through the asanas.

It can be said that Iyengar differs from the other styles of yoga by three key elements: technique, sequence and timing.

Technique refers to the precision of the body alignment and the performance of pranayama.
Sequence means the sequences in which asanas and breathing exercises are practiced. Following the specific sequence is important in achieving the desired result, because only the combination of certain poses and breathing techniques can ensure the expected positive effect.
Timing is the third key element which defines the time spent in each pose. Rather than flowing from one pose to the next, staying in the posture is a key element of the practice.

Iyengar Yoga is characterized by great attention to detail and precise focus on body alignment. Iyengar pioneered the use of "props" such as cushions, benches, blocks, straps and sand bags, which function as aids allowing beginners to experience asanas more easily and fully than might otherwise be possible without several years of practice. Props also allow elderly, injured, tired or ill students to enjoy the benefits of many asanas via fully "supported" methods requiring less muscular effort. Props also support staying power in a pose. Increased duration in a pose develops physical and mental stability, poise, and concentration. As we stay in a pose, the mind draws inward, unnecessary thinking is quelled, and we experience more objectivity and humility. Patanjali calls this citta prasadanam, or "even distribution of consciousness." This leads us on the inward journey toward the Self.

KUNDALINI YOGA

A dynamic blend of physical postures, breathing, movement, stretching, meditation, mantra and relaxation, the combination of which activates the glandular system, strengthens the nervous system, expands the lung capacity, and purifies the bloodstream. Both safe and effective, it brings balance to the body, mind and soul, and can be practiced by almost anyone, regardless of age, fitness, occupation and experience.

PREGNANCY YOGA

Postnatal Yoga: Postnatal yoga is an excellent solution to the stresses of new motherhood and a great way to ease your body and your mind back into shape. Asanas guide this class in regaining the inner strength and pranayama allows the firmness in the inner body and serenity of the inner mind.
Inviting new mothers from six weeks postpartum, Postnatal yoga aims to empower and nurture mothers especially during this time of adjustment. Dynamic vinyasa movements guide this class to empower and nurture mothers working from inside out to reset their foundation.

Prenatal Yoga: Yoga during pregnancy brings positive affirmations, calm minds and strong, flexible bodies as you journey to motherhood. Let me guide you through an hour of pranayama, mudras and asanas for a healthy, blissful pregnancy and a deeper connection to your baby. An hour long class dedicated to honoring your body during the time where it is at it’s most flexible and exercising the breath to bring calm and positivity for both mother and baby.

YIN YOGA

Yin Yoga is a meditative, healing practice using passive, long-held floor poses. Yin yoga bypasses the muscles and allows you to nourish and strengthen our deeper tissues. Connective tissues, fascia, joints, tendons ,ligaments and bones receive gentle, low load stress. The poses are held between 2-5 minutes and the muscles stay passive in order to stimulate the meridians and the nervous system. Each Yin pose is an opportunity to go inward and find an appropriate balance of effort and ease. It is a perfect complement to an active (Yang) practice and a much needed tool for anyone who needs to unwind a tight body, mind or heart. Yin is suitable for all levels, including beginners.

YIN YANG FLOW YOGA

It is a balanced flow which consists of a dynamic (Yang) sequence aimed at creating heat and a profound but mindful stretching with restorative effect on muscles, joints and ligaments (Yin). This sequence acts as a perfect "wakeup" for the body in the morning as it improves blood flow, energizes and also has a soothing effect on nervous system.

YOGA FOR KIDS

Age 2-5 (45 min class): Fun time with a lot of games includes carefully selected yoga poses, mindfulness exercises, soft pranayamas and meditations. Usually the class structured with inspiring stories which encourage a child's natural thirst for knowledge. In this imaginative series, combined simple yoga poses with engaging songs, puppets and stories that exercise social, sensory and motor skills while increasing flexibility.
Age 6-10 (45 min class): Improves strength, flexibility, and coordination. Children will learn how to focus and center themselves with various breathing and visualization techniques. They will also learn self-respect and respect for others with the practice of fun and challenging poses, partner and group poses, lots of yoga games, breathing and basic anatomy.

Yoga for Teens (1 hour class): Using yoga postures to build inner/ outer strength and flexibility are the main focus of this class. Also includes partner/group poses and playful yoga games. Experience emotional balance through the physical and mental benefits of yoga by practicing breathing exercises, flowing sequences, balancing poses and deep relaxation while building a healthy relationship with your body. Positive self-awareness and esteem are encouraged.

YOGA & MEDITATION FOR CANCER PATIENTS & SURVIVORS

Yoga has so many different types and methods but we believe the main core always lies under the body and mind connection. Especially women who are touched by the tough experience of Cancer in life need to take an action instead of feeling upset or unlucky. They need to say 'hi ' again to themselves. Healing does not necessarily means being disease free all the time, oppositely sometimes true healing can come with the disease. It's your path, it's your journey and you are the closest one to yourself if you listen your inner voice. It always speaks to you quietly. Yoga teaches how to create that void so we can listen what our true essence says without fears.
This practice is structured around short meditations, affirmations, breathing through 'vayu's which are our vitality pockets in our body. The yoga poses we practice always depend on the participants conditions, however we choose the therapeutic, simple and mindful movements in order to feel every cell of our body in this class.

Pilates is an exercise system designed to stretch, strengthen, lengthen, tone, and balance the entire body. It improves your posture, relieves stress, and increases strength and flexibility. Pilates works the deeper muscles in a focused manner strengthening core postural muscles and developing correct body alignment. This stabilizes the spine and supports the back. Pilates is a complete exercise method developed by its founder, Joseph Pilates, over the course of a lifetime dedicated to improving physical and mental health. Pilates exercises the whole body through a range of mat and equipment based exercises, re-balancing muscle use throughout the entire musculoskeletal system. The exercises build the body's core strength and improve posture through a series of low repetition, low impact stretching and conditioning exercises, which develop muscles without adding bulk.

In addition to standard Reformer Pilates, we have the following tailored classes:
Jumpboard Pilates: It is a choreographed cardio routine on the jumpboard. The workout uses the principles of Plyometrics, developed for athletes in the Soviet Union in the 1970s. Using the jumpboard, Plyometrics builds speed and power through activation of the fast twitch muscle fibers in the quadriceps.
Equipment Pilates: An equipment pilates class includes Reformer, Tower (Cadillac), and all the props of pilates (ball, magic circle, thera band, foam roller … ) With the addition of a Tower Conversion, you gain the ability to work in multiple planes of resistance, on a moving carriage, and from both sides of the Tower. Five Reasons Why A Pilates Tower Class Is Your New Favorite Workout:
  1. Isolation. The majority of Tower exercises focus on one area of the body at a time, making it easier to isolate muscle groups.
  2. Flow. There is no set classical order for the Tower exercises. This means that beginner Tower students enjoy a much lower learning curve.
  3. Advancement. Although we love to say, “Pilates is a practice, not a performance,” Tower students actually do advance quickly which is a nice perk of the apparatus. CHAKRA DANCING MEDITATION

Not many of us are expressing our true Goddess within. This class is to awaken the Goddess within you! Experience a re-connection with yourself by dancing to music that vibrates to the energies of each chakra.
Dancing the seven chakras is like dancing into seven different inner landscapes, each with its own lessons, meanings, and stories. We explore our instincts, sexuality, and power, how we love and communicate, our intuition, and our spirituality.
The process of Chakra dance involves letting the movements emerge spontaneously as you surrender to the music of each chakra. It feels like entering into a waking dream. You may see images in your mind's eye, recall memories or gain insights related to each chakra. You may also feel emotions or physical sensations. It’s a gentle unfolding, an awakening of who you really are.
The joy of experiencing Chakra dance in a class setting is the power of group energy. MANDALA MEDITATION (ACTIVE MEDITATION)

“Mandala” means circle in Sanskrit.Circles are a powerful symbol found in every culture. We see them in halos, prayer wheels, and other religious symbols, architecture, and nature. Mandalas are sacred circles that have been long been used to facilitate meditation in the Indian and Tibetan religions. People create and look at mandalas essentially to center the body and mind. People who color mandalas often experience a deep sense of calm and well-being. It's a simple tool that doesn't require any expertise, but it can be remarkably soothing and nourishing. Mandalas not only focus your attention, but allow you to express your creative side, which many of us neglect in our daily lives.
Come and create your own mandalas (models of mandalas and paint will be provided) and enter into a meditative state while listening to soft music and manifesting your own mandala.

OSHO DYNAMIC MEDITATION

This meditation is a fast, intense and thorough way to break old, ingrained patterns in the body-mind that keep one imprisoned in the past, and to experience the freedom, the witnessing, silence and peace that are hidden behind these prison walls.
The meditation is meant to be done in the early morning, when as Osho explains it, “the whole of nature becomes alive, the night has gone, the sun is coming up and everything becomes conscious and alert.”
"This is a meditation in which you have to be continuously alert, conscious, aware, whatsoever you do. The first step, breathing; the second step, catharsis; the third step, the mantra, 'Hoo.' Remain a witness. Don’t get lost. It is easy to get lost. While you are breathing you can forget; you can become one with the breathing so much that you can forget the witness. Observe what is happening as if you are just a spectator, as if the whole thing is happening to somebody else, as if the whole thing is happening in the body and the consciousness is just centered and looking.
